Submetering is the installation of metering devices with the ability to measure energy usage after the primary utility meter. Submetering offers the ability to monitor energy usage for individual tenants, departments, pieces of equipment or other loads individually to account for their actual energy usage.
Submetering is important because it allows to verify utility bills, allocate energy costs and assign accountability, determine equipment efficiency and identify saving opportunities.
How submetering works?
1. Building Surveys: Our team will survey each building to determine the best metering system to deliver a solution tailored to your requirements.
2. Design, Review & Approval: We will then meet with your team to review the details of the proposed scope to ensure your expectations.
3. Meter & Sensor installation: During this phase, we install all the required equipment for your project while keeping your cost as low as possible without affecting quality.
4. Real Time Data Monitoring: Our Monitoring solutions are perfect for real-time monitoring and detailed analysis. All Omnimeters feature a rich data set that includes kWh data, Watts, Volts, Amps, Power Factor, and more. The v.4 Omnimeters have an additional data set that includes pulse counting on up to three inputs (allows for remote water and gas meter reading), kWh on each line, Reverse kWh on each line, Real time direction of current on each line, VARs, kVARh, and much more. The EKM Push device sends this data set to the cloud on a once/minute read interval, where it can then be accessed via the internet from anywhere. So no matter where you are in the world you can monitor your energy, perform energy audits, benchmarking analyses, assess the performance of your solar PV system, etc.
